SOLAR CONCEPTS

The most efficient way to convert solar energy into hot water for your homes heating and domestic hot water requirements is via a totally integrated, closed system that is able to store the heat created during periods of sunshine for a long time. This, for example, enables the use of solar heated water for showering the morning after it was heated by the sun the previous day. This reduces or at times even eliminates the amount of boost energy needed (eg. gas or electricity), making these systems far more efficient.

Further more, being integrated systems, they allow additional users such as in-floor heating or pool heaters to be connected in order to further reduce the total heating costs of your home.

Our partners can help calculate system size and required equipment for your home and recommend qualified companies to install these systems in your area.

Dual strategy: Improved efficiency and substitution
To achieve secure energy supplies, climate protection,
energy-efficiency and cost-stability, a dual strategy needs to be adopted: an increase in the efficient use of energy and faster adoption of renewable forms of energy in order to conserve fossil fuels. We should be mindful though that the amount of available renewables is also likely to be limited.

Application spectrum of renewable energies:
One needs to consider the application spectrum of renewables as being more highly differentiated than that of oil and gas:
– Wind power and photovoltaic systems, for example, are not applicable to the heating sector. These systems are solely designed to generate electric power. Furthermore, they are neither available consistently nor all the year round.
– Solar heating systems are established in the heating sector, where they are utilised to generate domestic hot water and to backup central heating.
– The utilisation of natural energy with heat pumps continues to gain in importance. They reduce the proportion of fossil energy consumed that is required to generate the power used.
